Digital rights in the UK: ORG meeting 7 February 2006, etc

For those not aware of it, the Open Rights Group (who campaign on digital rights - I've blogged about them before) are holding their second networking meeting in London on 29 January (i.e. tomorrow, 6pm - free entry/nibbles - do go along if you can). The guest speaker (on the European Broadcast Flag) Cory Doctorow of Boing Boing and formerly the EFF.

There's now an FAQ for the ORG. Writer Neil Gaiman, best-known to SF/fantasy/graphic novel afficionados, has agreed to become the ORG Patron.

And there are informal ORG notes on the oral evidence to the All Party Parliamentary Internet Groups review on digital rights management last Thursday, also reported in The Register.

I've updated my original post on digital rights and IP in the UK to add all that in.
