Find Blogger.com bloggers near you (if you're in the USA)

Thanks to Michael Bates, who kindly gave me the syntax last month, here's how to find bloggers who use Blogger and live in a particular US town or city, e.g. yours, using a simple search form.

Sadly I've not been able to get it to work for anywhere outside the USA, so of course the form below only works for the USA - I've not provided the option to enter another country as there's no point. [Edited 2 January 2006:] Well Truckspy worked it out. You can indeed search for Blogger bloggers anywhere in the world!

Also note that:

State essential - you have to enter the state for it to work, you just can't enter a town or city without entering the state too (though you can enter just the state, without a town)
No abbreviations - you have to enter the full name of the state or town, no abbreviations (e.g. Ca won't find anything, you need California).

Unfortunately you can't combine it with an interests, movies etc search as per the search form I've previously provided (look under "Blogger members") to find people with particular interests etc living in your town, because that's the way Blogger seem to have set it up - it's an either/or situation.

I don't know how Blogger have chosen to order the results, and don't forget that though it says Results 1-10 on the results page there could be more than 10 results so keep hitting that Continue button if you want to see more results.
